Two players participate in this game, as it is a board that consists of a certain number of squares, and the common number is seven. The two players sit opposite each other, so that the board is placed between them.

The game begins by distributing 48 stones from different colors, each side has its own color and 24 stones for every player.

The game is usually played in a square patch consisting of 25 small holes dug in the ground, in which 24 small stones are used, each of which is called a (pelage).
