Iraq Al-Amir Women Association
Several years ago, and specifically in 1996, the story of the Iraq Al-Amir Women's Association began, after Queen Noor inaugurated the last projects of Wadi Al-Seer Development Villages.
Iraq Al-Amir Women’s Association includes many important production and manufacturing departments, for example, a section devoted to hand-making papers, in addition to the hand weaving and ceramics section, and the keenness of its workers to meet the needs of many customers and visitors.
This distinction and wonderful spirit of productivity made the Iraq Al-Amir Women Association the focus of attention and support from the Ministry of Planning, which makes the center's work expand more and more.
This association is distinguished by providing many basic local services and products at the hands of women from the region, and among the services that are provided are the ceramics, paper, textile and soap workshop.
A tourist Lounge was added within the association, where tourists are served food and overnight stays, and the area enjoys a breathtaking view of the evergreen nature of Iraq al-Amir, in a strategic location that is a few minutes away from the main archaeological and tourist attractions of the village.
Various local meals are provided at all times, and the Jordan Trail route was also dealt with in order to provide food and overnight stays, and there are 21 women in the association.
Like any project, women used to suffer from a culture of shame in the past, but this association changed this culture quite well, so many women participated in various industries and every woman turned from a housemate only to a businesswoman, as the association contributed to the empowerment of women significantly and she became an actor in society, contributing to providing for her family and changing her life, even if by a small part.
Molds are also manufactured from gypsum in the association, which is a type of production. The Iraq Al-Amir Association is not only a rest, but has become a production moment that provides income to many women in society.
It is worth noting that all well-known Jordanian meals such as Mansaf, Maklouba and Kabsa are prepared by local community women also in the Iraq Al Amir Women Association, who have become a source of pride for their community, and have become a role model that every woman who dreams of being active in her community must emulate them.
