Palestinian embroidery or “Tatreez”, a beautiful artistic tradition passed down to generations, is what grandparents and forefathers of the various regions in historic Palestine created and left for us in heritage. Many women embroider as a hobby and to show off their personal skills and social identity ,and others produce and sell those pieces to support themselves, their families, or other women.

In this 16-hr course, students will explore the different types of Palestinian embroidery, have an insight about the history of embroidery in Palestine and learn how to embroider using traditional Palestinian embroidery cross-stitch methods by an Embroidery expert from Ramallah, “Ebtisam”.
